Make Videos of Website Visitor Actions

March 5, 2008

Video Record SoftwareIf you are like most webmasters, you love watching people when you first show them your website. It’s interesting and informative to watch them visit your website front page and see what they do, what grabs their attention, and how they use your website to get the information they seek. Wouldn’t it be cool if you could see what random strangers do when they get to your site? Wouldn’t it be cooler if there was an 100% free way to do exactly just that?

I recently started using a tool I found that lets you literally record and playback the mouse movements and clicks of random internet users of your website. You see exactly where their mouse goes, what links they click, and how they use your site.

Use ClickTale To Make Video Recording

It’s completely for free and I believe you get 100 free recording per week to try it out to see exactly how it works. It’s very useful for the webmaster who is not only interested in aspects like SEO, but also user interaction.

There are also additional stats and analytics collected by clicktale that is displayed through heatmaps and it shows you how often links are clicked, how much time is spent at certain parts of the site and how much traffic different parts of your pages are getting.

Users are not aware that their actions are being recorded so they interact with your site naturally, giving you extensive insight into how people actually use your site.

  • Not the same as google analytics or statcounter for stats
  • Paid options and upgrades are available
  • Watch em click your links and make money.

Learn More and start making free videos now.

P.S - No we didn’t record your actions on this page (cough cough) scouts honor ;)

I just set up an account and installed the code. This looks very interesting. I’ll report back after clicktale has recorded some data for my site.

So I have been using Clicktale for a few days now and I guess the best way to describe it is kind of addictive. I watch the videos, and root for the person to click on one of my affiliate links.. LOL. It’s actually kind of a rush and I get pissed when there is something very obvious the person is trying to find by knowing the search term that they found my page for, but they don’t do what I think they should!

Great piece of software. (well, I guess it’s not software really…

Got something to say?
