So Much Drama at the P.A.Peeee
November 24, 2008
With so much drama at the P.A.P, it’s kind of hard being Snoop d o double gee.
Holy shit did it hit the fan at the PAP forums the week before Thanksgiving.
Professor, Lou, and by proxy Randy have hit the ‘reset’ button on the PAP forums, deleting a shit pile of posts and banning tons of users for expressing negative opinions. The only thread I can see left is this one by some dude named wemege who is wondering why all the threads are deleted. It might be gone before you get a chance to read it.
Now if you haven’t heard, Jeremy Enke retired as the PAP admin a while back. Not too long after, a new poker affiliate forum was launched and it is by invitation only so you’re going to have to know somebody to get in. It’s already probably the most active poker affiliate forum on the market.
I don’t know the details of what happened to cause the huge rift, but I do know Lou and the Professor went apeshit on posts over at PAP, deleting and editing posts and for some unknown reason, someone on their staff posted as Jeremy on their forums for some random reason. What they hell ever made someone on PAP think it was a good idea to log into Jeremys account (which he was banned from) and make a stupid ass post like ‘yes thank you’ or something to one of ‘professors house’ post is beyond me. I don’t get it.
It pissed off some of the affiliates at PAL and a shit storm went to brewing. Props to the man Dealer Dan for snagging some of the great posts that were deleted in the frenzy. Dealer Dan’s PDF file of the action.
So, along with that it now seems that Greg has been released with his contract with CardSpike. Looks like they are turning out to have some serious issues and I’m looking to remove them from my top 10 list on one of my sites. Previously I had opted to add them in as Greg’s reputation in the industry.
Personally, I’ll still be reading posts over at PAP on occassion but my posts will mostly take place on PAL going forward.
Here is some of the best imagery to capture the drama:

Who's House? Prof's House!

Prof's House
Nice effort from My Poker Corner.
If you’re a member of PAL, the threads that mostly relate to this are here: Get Banned from PAP Contest, CAP/PAP Post under Jeremys Name
A few cool things have resulted from all of this. First and foremost the new forums at PAL seem like they are really going to be something special. If you are a serious poker affiliate you need to be there. I also love that there are now multiple poker affiliate radio shows to choose from. Production value and timing of the hosts goes, hands down to the guys at Affiliate Life Radio.

The End of an Era – Jeremy Enke Retires as PAP Admin
October 15, 2008

Jeremy Enke - Affiliate Baller
He is the single reason that the forums have became as successful as they are today, and he is the only one that knows the whole story about how the forums ended up as they have now! Let’s just say it has sometimes been a bumpy ride

Jeremy, thanks man… you are an inspiration and a friend.
Can’t wait to see what you bring out next.
Poker Leagues – Managing Points Video
September 16, 2008
One of the most popular and recurring theme on the poker affiliate programs forums is the idea of incorporating a poker league into the mix…
Poker leagues are a great way to keep players playing over a period of time, but as many league managers have found out, it is difficult to keep track and display your league results, which is a KEY to maintaining interest in your league. One of the tools we developed that we are offering our readers free of charge is the Poker Leaderboard Points Management Software, available at Poker-Leaderboard.com.
Poker-Leaderboard Points Video
One of our users, a guy by the name of RC with the Atlanta Poker Club was kind enough to put together a video tutorial on how to enter points using the Poker-Leaderboard points manager. He did it for the tournament directors at the APC but you can see how it works yourself with his video.
Enjoy the video and I hope this video helps save you time!
Did you know? You can send your friends or league players a link to Full Tilt Poker and if they click it, become a real money player and earn 100 FPP’s you will earn $125 bucks? Yep, it’s that easy, and you can also promote other online poker rooms all from one interface. Click Here for Current Commissions

WSOP Final Table Delay
May 9, 2008
One of the major topics of the week over at the Poker Affiliate Forums has been the fact that the WSOP is delaying the play of the final table for nearly four full months so they can hype the final table and broadcast the final table nearly live.
Jeremy asked in the forum what we thought about all thought about it and there were some mixed responses. Generally the idea is that affiliates will end up making more money on this but that the tournament itself is going to pretty much suck.
It’s pretty obvious that Jeremy is against the idea and pointed out that the media outlets covering the event are going to get pinched pretty bad. Companies like PokerNews are flying in people from Australia for the event and now they are only going to get to cover up to the start of the final table w/o having to send everyone home and then back out again in three and a half months, adding in a huge extra expense for the coverage.
The question I pose though, is it going to be worth it all around from a business standpoint IF it rekindles another huge spark in poker?
The idea of the WSOP delaying the final table event was first brought up by PPP who later commented that he shouldn’t have so freely given away linkbait opportunity. It also looks like Back In Black was one of the first to see the opportunity for linkbait and scored a link from the PokerStars Blog even. Nicely done dude, sometimes it pays to be first to get up some quality content on a subject, got a few thousand visitors and lots of link love.
Poker Stars Affiliate Program with MGR?

Poker Stars Affiliate Program with MGR?

Updated 6/4/08 – Back from vacation I noticed another rakeback thread on the PAP forums where we get a post from Carly that while Poker Stars does not allow rakeback, but that they do seem to indeed offer MGR (nice!!).
MGR’s offered to Supa Affiliates only, with no rakebackers what so ever, nor do they provide the means to the affiliates to calculate rakeback amounts.
Rakeback is absolutely not allowed at PokerStars and in no way would we work with an affiliate who provided this. Affiliates who are on revenue share receive no individual tracker information, and nor will we confirm that a particular player is signed up to the affiliate.
PokerStars never has, and never will work with affiliates who claim to
provide rakeback to players, and nor will affiliates have the means to do so.Any PokerStars affiliate founds to be offering rakeback would be in
violation of our terms and subject to termination.Carly
Here is the original thread: Does pokerstars allow rakeback or not where I pulled Carly’s response.
I have to be honest, when I asked about it I was told it wasn’t even possible… I guess I’m not a “Super Affiliate”. I have no idea what MGR PokerStars offers, but I would expect it to be around 30%.
Word on the streets threads at Poker Affiliate Programs is that Poker Stars.com is considering going to an MGR offering… I of course touched base with the AM, but for the short term, that seems to be shot down right now according to the message I received from my AM. I’ve got what she said and a link to her post in the PAP forums in the article…
PokerStars.com has to be one of the most well retaining poker rooms of any online as they are by far the largest and offer no kind of rake back and they still dominate the online poker world. Being an affiliate for PokerStars is competitive and the reason why is the huge scale up of CPA’s offered.
Here is the standard Poker Stars Affiliate Program CPA:
- 1 to 24 $75 per player
- 25 to 49 $110 per player
- 50 to 75 $150 per player
- 76 to 99 $200 per player
- 100 to 149 $225 per player
- 150 to 199 $250 per player
- 200 to 249 $275 per player
- 250+ $300 per player
These player numbers are for your qualified players which means that they have earned 100 FPP’s. There is not an MGR offering available yet at PokerStars.com and here is what Carly Says on the PAP forums..
The affiliate program for poker stars is one everyone should be a member of, but there are a few considerations.
Sign up through the PAW Network to promote Poker Stars. You get the same CPA rate but you can utilize the sick freerolls that are offered to members of the PAW network. You can not promote through the PAW network if you establish an affiliate account with Poker Stars directly so unless there is a compelling reason why you want to go direct it is a virtual no brainer to sign up through the PAW network and promote Poker Stars, as well as some other major online poker rooms.

Make Videos of Website Visitor Actions
March 5, 2008
If you are like most webmasters, you love watching people when you first show them your website. It’s interesting and informative to watch them visit your website front page and see what they do, what grabs their attention, and how they use your website to get the information they seek. Wouldn’t it be cool if you could see what random strangers do when they get to your site? Wouldn’t it be cooler if there was an 100% free way to do exactly just that? Read more

FullTiltPoker Pisses Off Affiliates
February 19, 2008
On Friday, February 15th, FullTiltPoker.com sent out their affiliate newsletter that told us that starting April 1st, any player who does not make a deposit within the first 60 days will no longer be tracked to the affiliate.
Well… that’s not exactly how they said it… I’ll just cut and paste the snippet from the newsletter here and then go into details about this latest thing to hit the poker affiliate world.
As an affiliate, we want to make sure you get the credit you deserve for directing real-money players to Full Tilt Poker.
Our Affiliate Agreement defines a real money player as someone who makes their first real money deposit within 60 days of signing up on our site.
Beginning April 1st, any player who waits longer than 60 days to make their first deposit will not be credited to any affiliate account. Make sure you don’t lose any of the credit – or players – you deserve. Use our promotions and advice to help turn your play money accounts into real money in your pockets.
Now, here is where it gets interesting. They try to spin it by saying ‘as an affiliate we want to make sure you get the credit you deserve for directing real-money players to Full Tilt Poker” and then they go on to say that going forward they will no longer give credit past 60 days.
They also later insult us by saying they are just now enforcing this rule as they finally have the technology to implement it… Riiiiight.
Come on FullTiltPoker – you are smarter than that, at least address with the understanding that we are competing in one of the most competitive affiliate markets online and that we have a certain level of intelligence!
This has turned into an epic FullTiltPoker Affiliates 60 Day Tracking thread over at PAP, with many affiliates unhappy.
I checked some stats and saw that around 18-28% of converting players came from beyond 60 days, and virtually all affiliates are reporting similar numbers.
It’s a shame, too, because they offer so many other quality features in an enjoyable software, good brand name, and players like to play there… but they really seem to see affiliates as competitors and not partners as all of their recent moves seem designed to maximize their cut of the players value and minimize ours.
Nell – the FTP Rep responds on the boards on page 22…. the affiliates are not pleased.
We shall see how this turns out. For now I will focus my efforts on other poker rooms and see what becomes of FullTiltPoker as the dust clears a bit more and we hear from some of the heavy hitters in the industry, like our man Jeremy Enke himself. *Jeremy Removes FullTiltPoker.com from PAP and the Forums… found on page 25 of the now epic thread. He also calls out directly to the Full Tilt Poker CEO to contact him ASAP on this issue.
I think Justin says it best himself in post 226 – Don’t Insult our Intelligence FullTilt and John H weighs in here with some well thought out rationale about the whole situation
*Updated 2/27 – Jeremy blogs about what the hell to do about this Full Tilt Poker 60 day policy.
*Updated 3/11/08 – Nell the FullTiltPoker Affiliate Rep Responds to Dealer Dan’s question on definition of a Real Money Player.
